MORE ABOUT THE ROOM

The room itself is very spacious with a king size bed and a single bed. The room can comfortably accommodate couples using the king size bed, or equally comfortably couples/friends wanting twin beds (admittedly this may need the toss of a coin to decide who gets the big bed!). Also, a child (under 16 years old) accompanying parents, can easily be accommodated in the single bed.
The room has secondary double glazing which is specifically designed to keep out noise so you will find the room surprisingly quiet.
The room has an en suite shower room. This is equipped with toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, conditioner etc.). The room is also supplied with plenty of guest towels.
There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room with plenty of tea and coffee. If you need more though, just ask. Biscuits are also provided.
You have the use of your own fridge. This contains fresh milk for tea and coffee and chilled water. It is also useful for chilling wine/beer and any treats you may want to bring etc.
Your booking includes free off road parking. There is parking along the roadside outside the house for one hour which is plenty of time to drop your luggage off and see your room and facilities. You will then be shown the 16ft wide garage on Plume of Feathers Lane which is literally half a minutes' walk away from the Old Hab (no roads to cross).
Once parked, everything in Marlborough is within walking distance. After a nice cup of tea or coffee in your room, or indeed a glass of wine in the courtyard, you are ready to explore the vibrant High Street with shops, pubs, restaurants, historical buildings etc only a few minutes' walk away.
The main High Street in Marlborough is the widest high street in England. Originally, in the middle of the High Street there were permanent market stalls known as The Shambles but during one of the several fires of Marlborough, The Shambles were completely destroyed. In their place now are short stay parking spaces. There's still a market there though, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
